What Makes America

Book Of Laws

What Changed America from a color based segregated society to what it is now? Was it Dr. King, Malcolm X, ……. or was it a black lady (Ros Parks) that refused to change seat in bus because she is black and whiter person dont want to sit on the seat next to her. Or the element of change were those people who boycotted that bus service.
I think, the most decisive in it was Justice System, which stood up and declared No Segregation.
To properly understand it
Imagine that a society where all power’s are in the hands of Whites. Imagine all powerful politicians, families, economic giants …. etc. are white.
Now imagine Judges as people of flesh and soul, families and friends, interests (personal, economical and political) . They clearly know what are the sentiments of most powerful group.
Just then you will feel the great thing those people did. They decided what no one (powerful people) wanted but what was right.
They showed it in the case of Brown v. Board of Education( which lead to Little Rock School Case) and they displayed it in the case of Rosa Parks.

President of America Johson said “We have talked long enough in this country about equal rights. It is time now to write the next chapter – and to write it in the books of law” (The Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964)
I dont know exactly what he means by that, I think more proper would be to say lets make law that should tell in more clear words that there is no segregation on basis of color; so that not every time people have to go to supreme court to get correct verdict.

If only we could have Good Justice System (in Pakistan) which stood up for right. If we can have judges that could say what is correct even when 90% of the population is against it, even when religion beliefs are against that, …. only then you can say you have chance of survival.  It is an instrument that can destroy whatever people want, if it is wrong. It can nullify the acts of dicator, even if it is publicaly elected dictator.

President Johnson meant to pass the Civil Rights Act, which meant to enter it into US Law. Those laws that were part of the Civil Rights Act are now written in the books of US law.

And it was the will of the people that got that law passed, not the US Courts System. A majority of people in the US had grown opposed to racial discrimination – in it’s more blatant forms. That let the law get passed.
