I liked the Mouse Matrix’s (http://mousematrix.wordpress.com/) blog about how the Tupac’s song is no more relevant.
Ahead of time? Maybe the time has just changed! It is probably the first time when America acknowledged that it is the time for the “Changes”. A posthumous song by Tupac, “Changes” finally sounds old. A song, which stayed relevant after the death of Tupac, just does not apply to us anymore!
“And although it seems heaven sent
We ain’t ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain’t a secret don’t conceal the fact
the penitentiary’s packed, and it’s filled with blacks
But some things will never change”
(Excerpt from Tupac Shakur song “Changes”)
Yes things have changes but lets see if the system will change. Election of Benazir didnot changed condition of women in Pakistan. This might not be like election of Benazir in Pakistan, because there she was elected on the shoulders of her father’s name, here the person has been elected on his own basis.
However we should not see away from the ground realities of America. His election does not mean that by some magic race-problem has wiped out. Or the black schools have suddenly become great. The Black neighborhoods are no more ghetos.
But it is the step in right direction.
