On the Water Front and Ghulam

02 Sep

To be fair I have always thought Aamir Khan to be better actors than many, the one that did not churn out same kind of films over and over again; picking good ones much better than others. Somehow I have never been too impressed by what he does, e.g. his supper duper hit film Ghulam. It always appeared to me be a little bit foreign; mish-mash of local settings and out of context people. The motor cycle gang e.g. in summer of India people wearing leather jackets ridding here and there on motor bikes.

Today I found out that it is much closely matched to the Marlon Brando’s film “On The Water Front“. It was disappointing to find that out actually, because I thought even if the elements in the film were foreign the film and role are original.

Enjoy the most famous scene from the “On the Water Front” called Contender scene
